Heb 4:6 Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience,
Heb 4:7 again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “TODAY,” after such a long time, as it has been said: “TODAY, IF YOU WILL HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS.”
Heb 4:8 For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day.
Heb 4:9 There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.
Heb 4:10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
Heb 4:11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.
We have to distinguish between unbelief and disobedience, let’s look at unbelief first……
Unbelief- the withholding of belief; distrust of God’s promises and faithfulness.
I am paraphrasing that UNBELIEF means a WILLFUL ACTION to not believe.
Now let’s take a look at DISOBEDIENCE-
Disobedience-Neglect or refusal to obey; violation of a command or prohibition; the omission of that which is commanded to be done, or the doing of that which is forbid; breach of duty prescribed by authority.
Disobedience is very interesting, do we want to tackle this? Yes! absolutely, because many New Converts or Babes in Christ are neglecting to do What The Bible has prescribed for us to do as Believers in Christ.
Neglect is a willful act of not observing or paying attention to that which needs and requires attention, in this case it is the Neglect to continue in the things of God that can only be found in the Word of God (Washington definition).
Let’s take a rabbit trail and see where it leads us…….Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the Gospel (good news) of Christ, for it is God’s power working unto salvation [for deliverance from eternal death] to everyone who believes with a personal trust and a confident surrender and firm reliance, to the Jew first and also to the Greek,
Take a look at what Romans 1:16 says……
To everyone who believes with a PERSONAL TRUST (Individual Trust) in Jesus as their Savior).
Confident Surrender (To the Lordship of The Word of God, to continue as a disciple of Christ).
Firm Reliance (On the Word of God as it is Taught in the Word of God). When something goes on in my immediate world that I do n to like or agree with, I know that I can change it through a FIRM RELIANCE ON THE WORD OF GOD.
These are grace magnets that will activated the Kingdom of God on your behalf, but if they are not there IN YOUR HEART, then we will deceptively continue in the ARM OF OF THE FLESH and the arm of the flesh will profit us nothing.
SAINTS OF GOD, The New Creation was made from the SUPERNATURAL, Therefore YOU ARE REQUIRED TO LIVE IN THE SUPERNATURAL as a disciple and ambassador of Christ.
Rom 1:17 For in the Gospel a righteousness which God ascribes is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed through the way of faith that arouses to more faith]. As it is written, The man who through faith is just and upright shall live and shall live by faith.
